Issue: Cell Phone Towers in Clayton

August 26, 2010 | CCTV's Candidate Forum

The City Council has recently approved the lease of Clayton open space to be used by cell phone companies for new cellular towers, which will improve service in the City of Clayton.  These cell towers will generate additional income for the City, but have the potential of marring the scenic vistas in our town.

While Ted is open to creative ways of raising additional revenue for Clayton, he is concerned about the visual and environmental impact of this project.  As a Planning Commissioner, Ted feels that we must be cautious when developing the town's cherished open space.

Like with any project, we must weigh the benefits as compared to the costs, especially when it impacts the look and feel of our small town.
